Speakers
Jeff Michael, Director of UNC Charlotte Urban Institute will provide an overview of recent growth and demographic trends in the Charlotte region, as well as an analysis of the various economic sectors that have historically driven job growth in the region. He will also review some of the various ways in which local governments have responded to growth’s impact on their local tax base and the cost of providing services.
Frank Warren, President of Warren Associates, LLC, will present key market study terms, and describe factors that impact the research process. Two case studies will be presented. The studies will illustrate how a market area is defined, how demographics, supply, and demand are analyzed to recommend a specific site development program. The results provide input to the developer, investors, site planners and architects on the feasibility of a concept. Alternative scenarios can also be tested to maximize market potential.
