May 4, 2012
Jonathan Rose, founder of the Jonathan Rose Companies and the Garrison Institute, will be our guest speaker. The Jonathan Rose Companies is a green real estate policy, planning, development, civic development and investment firm. The company currently manages over $1.5 billion of work, much of it in close collaboration with not-for-profits, towns and cities. In this session Mr. Rose will discuss how his firm uses an interdisciplinary approach to integrate environmental, social and economic objectives into its work, including the firm’s success in redevelopment low income housing. The session will highlight specific projects and offer examples of the practical strategies and affordable green solutions the firm uses to achieve transformative change.
The Garrison Institute is a non-profit organization that is exploring the relationship between human behavior and real estate, climate and energy issues. The idea is that through an understanding of how people perceive and respond to these issues we will be able to find practical solutions.
