November’s CoffeeTalk, led by David Williams, Managing Director, Assured Group of Companies and Stephen Turner, Director, Economic & Urban Development for the City of Rock Hill, dove into the particulars of the Riverwalk project in Rock Hill, SC. They took the time to highlight the unique features of the community, share some of the challenges of development and discuss the incentives and P3 funding aspects of the project.

• ULI Charlotte members in attendance shared some comments after the discussion:
• Good to see City and developer understand each other’s “positions” from inception to now.
•  Public private ventures can be beneficial and successful.
• P3s are complicated for all parties involved, but the results can be a game-changer for a site/community.
• There is creativity in public financing.
