Community Outreach Initiatives
This committee focuses on outreach to future leaders in our community by fostering relationships with community high school and university educators. By working with key contacts to encourage the use of such tools as UrbanPlan, the Hines Design Competition and participation in the student fellowship program, students learn to make more educated land use decisions and are encouraged to actively participate in their community in these discussions.

Content Initiatives
Responsible for developing content to support the ULI mission through developing case studies that highlight new market trends and project best practices, and creating implementation toolkits which may provide actionable information around key topic areas.

DEI Initiatives
ULI Charlotte will work to improve the current reputation of discriminatory practices from the urban planning and development industry in the united states by committing to prioritizing the inclusion of minority communities.

Housing
The Housing Committee purpose is to brainstorm, share ideas and discuss relevant topics and trends. Provide input on education of members and the public sector on affordable housing, acting as a bridge to voice ideas to be implemented and best practices shared.

Marketing
The Marketing Committee’s mission is to support the external communications needs of the organization to achieve overall awareness and understanding of events, issues, and initiatives among members, prospects, the community, and media. It also serves to engage members fully with ULI on the local level. We achieve these goals by elevating ULI’s external visibility in the press and by seeking out the best technologies to improve our email, website, blog, and social media outreach.
Membership
This committee strives to improve the quality of ULI membership experience, improve retention, expand membership, increase membership diversity and understand the needs and wants of members.

NEXT
NEXT (35 to 45 years old) focuses on helping our members grow in their careers as they step into leadership roles within the industry.

Programs
The Programs Committee facilitates relationship building and career advancement among ULI Charlotte’s members through high-quality educational programs. We offer over 10 programs per year, which are developed and coordinated by committee, including major symposiums, breakfast meetings and networking opportunities.

Sponsorship
Sponsorship Committee raises sufficient sponsorship revenue to support District Council activities with minimal time and effort on the part of volunteers and staff. Committee members also plan and support two sponsor-only events and assist in specific event sponsorship opportunities.

Technical Assistance Program
The Technical Assistance Program (TAPs) committee draws from ULI Charlotte’s seasoned professional membership base to provide expert, multidisciplinary advice to public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and universities facing complex land use and real estate issues throughout our region.

Women’s Leadership Initiative
The mission of the ULI Women’s Leadership Initiative is to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry. The WLI committee is responsible for establishing programming for furthering the mission.

Young Leaders Group
The Young Leaders Group creates opportunities for young professionals under the age of 35 to develop skills and build relationships that will help advance their careers and foster an understanding of thoughtful development practices. Our seasoned members support and encourage the next generation of land use leaders by providing mentorship and insight into their career trajectory.
