Since 1947, ULI Advisory Services panels have helped communities find strategic, practical solutions for the most challenging issues facing today’s urban, suburban, and rural areas. During a concentrated one-week effort, panels address challenging real estate and land use issues and provide solutions.
The Advisory Service program is supported by the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, real estate and businesses in the South Park Area, to discuss:
- The future vision of South Park as an evolving suburban mixed use activity center
- Establish goals and expectations for future investment
- Identify tools and next steps for implementation
The panel will focus areas will include Economic Development (supporting the growth and evolution of this suburban activity center as a desirable place for investment), Community Design (shaping the transition of this activity center from a suburban place (auto-oriented) to a walkable mixed use place (pedestrian-oriented)), Mobility (providing a balanced approach to mobility that creates viable choices and encourages walking, cycling and public transit), and Neighborhood Relationship (protecting and strengthening the surrounding neighborhoods as valuable places to live on the edge of a vibrant activity center).
