CoffeeTalk: The Transformation of South End SOLD OUT
February 14, 2018
The South End area of Charlotte has a great story. Once a thriving manufacturing community surrounding the first rail line connecting Charleston, Columbia and Charlotte, the area declined along with the textile industry. In the 1990s, the name “South End” was coined and began a rebirth as a place “where retro mixes with contemporary, historical bumps up against trendy, and art intersects commerce.”
Now, South End is one of the hottest submarkets in the country. A new South End Vision Plan, including design guidelines, aims to guide that growth over the next three decades. This CoffeeTalk will discuss the new South End Vision Plan, its impact, and its opportunities.
