Real estate investors face a changing world, with the rising risk of recession in the short term and, over the long term, a slower rate of economic growth in general. Despite anxieties, however, U.S. real estate is still a favored place for investors from all over the world to invest their capital, according to the report. In fact, the Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2020® report named Charlotte a Top Market to Watch in 2020. This year's report notes the top markets for real estate investors include several familiar names. Austin ranked first out of 80 U.S. cities for overall real estate prospects for 2020, followed by Raleigh/Durham, Nashville, Charlotte, and Boston.

Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2020® is a trends and forecast publication with a 39-year history, and is the most highly-regarded and widely-read forecast report in the real estate industry. Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2020® provides an outlook on U.S. investment and development trends, real estate finance and capital markets, property sectors, metropolitan areas, and other real estate issues. The report draws on formal and informal surveys of real estate executives, investors, developers, and market experts around the U.S., including survey responses from over 1,500 real estate executives and personal interviews with over 350 industry leaders. Survey results relating to our local market will be included in the presentation.
