Featuring CBRE’s Managing Directors Steve Kulinski, Nashville, and Compie Newman, Charlotte, this informal program will discuss current trends, commonalities in the respective markets, and career insights tailored specifically towards mid-career professionals aged 35-45.
Compie Newman, Charlotte: A native of Charlotte, Compie Newman has been in the commercial real estate industry for over thirty years. Compie started his career in construction lending, working with several firms including First Union, RBC Capital Advisors, and NorthMarq Capital. In 2010, Compie joined CBRE, serving as the Senior Vice President of CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance Group. He now serves as the Managing Director of CBRE’s Charlotte office.
Steve Kulinski, Nashville: Steve Kulinski has also been in the commercial real estate industry for over thirty years. Remarkably, Steve spent much of this time at Gresham, Smith & Partners (now GS) managing the Nashville division and eventually serving as Executive Vice President. In 2015, Steve joined CBRE, serving as the Managing Director of CBRE’s Nashville office.

The ULI Nashville NEXT initiative provides opportunities to identify, connect, and elevate the next generation of leaders of mid-career professionals age 35 to (approximately) 45 years. NEXT provides a range of benefits to participants as they continue to develop their leadership skills and build lasting relationships amongst peers, with ULI Leadership, and throughout the ULI network.
