As the Senior Diversity & Inclusion Specialist for JE Dunn Construction, Chyna Green supports women and minority-owned suppliers, vendors, and construction-related businesses in the Raleigh and Charlotte markets. “I am a connector and enthusiast,” says Chyna, who has been in her current position since 2017. “I believe this is an important trait to have for my roles and responsibilities in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It is my purpose to connect others despite differences and learn how units can operate in that power of difference to be effective.”
Chyna is originally from Fayetteville, GA. She received her BA in Journalism from Georgia State University where she met her husband, Justin Green. She later earned her Certified Contract Administrator (CCA) Certification from Morgan State University. A passionate diversity advocate, Chyna is a force for good, providing opportunities for businesses that are disadvantaged. Her motto: “Always think, how can I positively make an impact for someone else. What can I do for them?”
As ULI Charlotte’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives Chair, her involvement with ULI connects to her overall mission. Land use projects have a massive economic impact on our community. In order to build more equitable cities, development and construction stakeholders need to makedecisions that take into account social responsibility. ULI gives Chyna the opportunity to network with these stakeholders and help build awareness around the need for equity and inclusion.
Chyna enjoys exploring Charlotte with her “sweetheart,”fueling their shopping expeditions with snacks from The Dumpling Lady. Favorite destinations include the Dominican Republic and New Orleans, and she hopes to visit Europe someday.
