“I enjoy hearing industry professionals, often ‘gurus,’ speak formally about their craft, as well as the more casual interaction and information sharing,” noted Bird about ULI. Bird Anderson is an Executive Vice President at Wells Fargo, where he’s worked in Commercial Real Estate and Homebuilder Banking for 31 years. One of the most satisfying parts of his job is interacting with creative and entrepreneurial builders and developers, with his strongest leadership quality being his communication skills.
Originally born in Atlanta, GA and a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Bird’s favorite vacation spot is Lake James/Linville Gorge. Tommy, Bird’s son, is the person Bird most admires as he is a heart and kidney transplant survivor. Thus, his favorite cause to support is organ transplantation and donation, as well as children’s health. Bird is a self-proclaimed history geek, recently reading Density of the Republic by Candice Millard.
Bird serves on the ULI Charlotte Advisory Board and believes ULI is an important part of learning and growing and serves as an instrumental tool in connecting people within the industry. His leadership advice is to visit face-to-face with customers and bring positive energy into the room. One of the coolest projects he was involved in was putting together the first private builder syndication for Wells Fargo.
Next time you see Bird, ask him about his favorite quote “I’m a fleabit peanut monkey.”
