National Advisory Panel to Study South Park

Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and key community partners have engaged the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to provide an Advisory Services Panel beginning March 13, 2016. This panel of experts, chosen and facilitated by ULI will focus on strategies to best envision the future of SouthPark as an evolving mixed use activity center, establish goals and expectations for future public and private investment, and identify tools and next steps for implementation.
Goals of Week-long Event
This concentrated panel of experts will provide results and work with the City, business and community stakeholders, neighborhood leadership and other organizations to address the opportunities and challenges in the area. A detailed report and actionable recommendations will be prepared and published following the weeklong work session.
The Panelists schedule is as follows:
- Sunday, March 13: Sponsor Dinner
- Monday, March 14: Staff Briefing, Tour of Area, and Stakeholder Reception
- Tuesday, March 15: Interviews with key Stakeholders
- Friday, March 18: Public Presentation
