In a Twitter campaign on January 5-8, ULI Charlotte encouraged people to think about how they can further improve upon their City, participants offered some incredible ideas, some rewarded with gift cards and prizes. We asked what would you do to make Charlotte great in 2016? Ideas ranged from exploring promote socio-economically integrated schools to advocating for more bike-friendly streets to exploring historic markers throughout our region. The daily winners included:
Tuesday – Dustin – I resolve to make Charlotte a better place by hosting Uptown Run Club! Noon on Fridays #CLTresolve #ULICT
Wednesday – Andy Goh – My #CLTresolve is to break the notion that #CLT is losing its culture, when in fact the opposite is true.
Thursday – Crescent Communities – In 2016, we will continue to bridge the gap between #CRE and #CLT culture #CLTresolve @uliclt
Friday – DavidaJ – My #CLTresolve is carpool karaoke. Let’s sing, ride & free up the streets! Also, stop trashing transit. Bumper sticker campaign, anyone?
The big campaign winner received coffee with Charlotte Deputy City Manager Ron Kimble to discuss his ideas. The winning Tweet was:
David Jessup Jr – #CLTresolve let’s #bridgethedivide w/ Muni-Fi, providing access to all residents. CLT: sexy, smart + connected.
We challenge you to make a difference in our community. What will you do in 2016 to make Charlotte (and our region) a better place to live, work and play?
A special thanks to our media partners Charlotte Observer’s Ely Portillo and Charlotte Five, for encouraging others to participate in the conversation.
