It is with regret that I have to share that Debra Campbell has resigned as the ULI Charlotte Chair. She has accepted a fantastic new opportunity as the City Manager for the City of Asheville, beginning December, 2018. Debra has served our city for more than 30 years, has pushed our District Council to new initiatives and discussion, and has promised her continued support and devotion to ULI in her new position. We are obviously sorry to lose her wisdom and experience as the leader of ULI.
Last week, our Governance Committee decided to seek nominations for the ULI Charlotte Chair position from the District Council membership. The Chair is the key volunteer leader for the District Council with responsibilities which include providing leadership and guidance for the District Council, appointing Committee Chairs and leaders, and ensuring the District Council moves our initiatives forward. In addition to leading the Management Committee and Advisory Board, the Chair attends periodic meetings (including the ULI Fall and Spring Meetings) and participates in calls with other District Council leadership. Working collaboratively with our community and ULI leaders, the Chair helps drive the ULI impact for our members and our community.
If you are interested in serving or nominating someone to serve as District Council Chair, please submit a short expression of interest by November 26, 2018 at 8:00am. The Governance Committee will be reviewing all of the nominations for consideration.
