On August 1-11, the 2020 Hip Hop Architecture Camp will kick off their FREE program serving 1500 middle and high school students in a national, virtual camp experience that includes architecture, urban planning, fashion, and music challenges. The vision of the camp is to use hip hop culture as a catalyst to increase the number of underrepresented communities in S.T.E.A.M. fields.
As a 2020 Gold Sponsor, ULI Charlotte has 30 guaranteed participants spots available for students in Charlotte as well as volunteer opportunities for members.
Volunteers will help facilitate break-out sessionsat the conclusion of the architecture design days on August 3 and 4 from 1:30-2pm and will help with preliminary judging on August 10. Volunteers also can participate in break-out sessions for the product design and rap creation days on August 5-8.Virtual volunteer training will take place on July 25 at 12:00pm.
