ULI Charlotte offered a letter of support for the City of Charlotte’s efforts to participate in a three-year Big Jump Project, a People for Bikes Program. Charlotteans are engaged and passionate about making the City more bicycle-friendly. Over the last 15 years, Charlotte has worked diligently to become a more bicycle-friendly city. During that time, over 190 miles of bike trails, bike lanes and signed routes have been implemented across the city. Right now, Charlotte is working on many fronts to improve the bicycling environment, including the creation of the Charlotte Bikes plan; construction of the 26-mile Cross Charlotte Trail; and installation of the city’s first protected bike lanes.
