    Retail Broker, Thrift Commercial Real Estate

    Cliff joined Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services in 2019 with a focus on providing quality service for both Landlords and Tenants. Prior to brokerage, Cliff built a market wide database of re-zonings and transactions within the last 10 years. He has a vast understanding of urban market data, zoning regulations, and property values; which greatly assists his clients as they navigate the best real estate solutions. Cliff spent most of his life in Raleigh, North Carolina but now lives in Charlotte with his wife, Mary. Cliff is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.

    Crescent Communities

    Alex joined Crescent Communities from Washington, DC in 2019 and is involved in the asset management of Crescent’s office portfolio and acquisition of future opportunities. His real estate experience includes valuation, leasing, asset management, acquisitions, and tax credit financing. During his career, he has worked on all major asset classes with a focus on office, mixed-use, and retail. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware in Finance and Economics.

    Gina Sheridan, the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA), boasts an impressive 23-year tenure as the city's leading tourism marketer. In her role, she has been instrumental in advancing community prosperity through impactful branding. Her work involves promoting the Charlotte region as a premier visitor destination, a sought-after host city for conventions, meetings, and sporting events, a site for strategic events, and a preferred production location for the film industry. She leads efforts to tell the powerful story of Charlotte’s visitor economy, which generates $7.8 billion for the Charlotte region annually and enhances the area’s overall quality of life. As a member of the CRVA Executive Leadership Team, Gina provides invaluable leadership and guidance. She oversees a dedicated team of 26 professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and mentorship to drive both individual and collective growth. Drawing upon her data-driven approach and profound insights into market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors, she manages a $15.3 million budget. Her efforts are centered on enhancing positive perceptions and spending in the leisure tourism sector, while also directing the overarching marketing and communications strategy for the CRVA and its brands, including the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Bojangles Entertainment Complex, Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte Regional Film Commission, and Visitor Information Centers. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Her professional achievements have earned her recognition as one of the Charlotte Business Journal's "40 Under 40" honorees. She is also a graduate of Leadership Charlotte and currently serves on the Board of Directors Executive Committee. Additionally, Gina is an active member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Advisory Committee and holds a distinguished membership within Women Executives, an exclusive professional group comprised of accomplished women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their professional endeavors and within the Charlotte community.

    Rick Thurmond

    Chief Marketing Officer, Charlotte Center City Partners

    Rick Thurmond is Chief Marketing Officer at Charlotte Center City Partners. In this role, he provides enterprise-wide leadership, direction, and strategy for all CCCP brands, including Uptown, South End, Market at 7th Street, Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, Charlotte SHOUT!, Camden Commons, Music Everywhere CLT, Charlotte Rail Trail, and Victoria Yards). He also leads Music Everywhere CLT, a nonprofit initiative to develop Charlotte’s music scene and economy. Previously at Center City Partners, he has served as SVP of Community Development and of Economic Development. Prior to joining Charlotte Center City Partners, Rick was editor and publisher of Charlotte magazine. Rick has served on numerous community boards and is currently on the board of the North Carolina Downtown Development Association and Historic Elmwood-Pinewood, Inc. A native of Tallahassee, Rick holds a BA in English from Davidson College and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business. Rick lives in Charlotte with his wife, Ashley, and their daughter, who is a student in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.
